Post-it Note #19
August 25, 2009
(This post-it note is part of a series on how to lead a simple life even more simply – with pictures for those easily distracted by words.)
Today, I will reveal my secret powers.
But first I will take a nap.
On second thought, maybe I’ll start tomorrow. It’s already 2:43.
Why do we postpone our own greatness?
Why when it comes to choosing heroes do we pick everyone BUT ourselves?
Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!
Not today, SKINNY BOY!!
Our minds tell us. Yet, not all heroes wear capes and not all caped crusaders are heroes. Some are just out right nut jobs. (With a special affinity for stretch nylon.)
Heroes can be mompreneurs like Julie Aigner-Clark, who was so intent on bringing her daughter happiness that she developed a brand new concept of learning videos named Baby Einstein for a whole new generation of kids. (Hope that’s true; I read it in Wikipedia). Or the Dad who ignores the rat race and embraces the non traditional role of stay at home dad.
Or the guy who climbs Mount Everest in a wheelchair. Not that I advise that. First, you have to buy a wheelchair.
Point is anyone at any moment can decide to become a hero. Don’t wait to find the magical cape.
Leap.
The magic is YOU.

Wooohooo
To infinity and beyond!
No wait…that’s Toy Story!
Yep, I really like this one Brian! We are always looking at other people and placing them on pedestals, why not be great ourselves, we have all the potential!
Thanks for the reminder !
I saw a bumper sticker today (wish I could have gotten a pic) that said, “I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away”.
This reminds me of the times i used to run around with my underwear on my head pretending to be batman / spider man etc.
@Faramarz
Thanks for your comment.
Yeah, I used to make my brother put underwear on HIS head and pretend he was a hero and then i would DEFEAT him and ask “what kind of hero are you, you’re not a hero!” haha
That is just brilliant!!
@LQ….wow…”brilliant”… you’re very kind. i promise to keep you entertained. i quite like funny stuff.
thanks for your comment!

I love it, because it’s true. It’s only deciding whether you want to be or not. There are lots of times where you’re even asked to be a hero, even if being a hero only means helping a friend carrying some furniture in order to move to another place
Best regards,
Andrés
@Andres thanks for the comment, for all the people i’ve helped move i deserve a medal or at least a free move myself. suddenly, my friends are “busy” haha
